• He is here!

  Not Adam, but my new calf. In April we discovered that one of my heifers was pregnant. Since then I have been waiting for her to freshen. I had no idea how long it would take. I had to learn to be patience. Well sunday daddy went to check the cows after church and when he came back he told me that she had had here calf but that he couldn't find it. Well I took Lupus, the dog, out to the corner of the field where she had had the calf and she started following the calf's trail till she found him. It is and instinct for the mother cow to hide their calves right after their born to keep predators away. The calf is very beautiful, but sadly he is a he. He is not worth much, especially since he is a cross between a holstein and jersey. I don't know what I am going to do with him yet. I have to think for a while. Well he is here.
