  • A WONDERFUL DAY!

Today is a wonderful day. The weather is perfect right now. It is a pleasent 61 degrees out with a slight breeze. It feels very peaceful out. I just walked back from my first class. Coming out of Crawford hall you could see students and faculty members going about their business. There have been no emergency sirens going off, no schreeching brakes or honking horns. Walking past the school the kids were all heading to the playground for lunch and recess. There are piles of leaves everywhere and a few people are tending to their gardens. If you look around you see leaved falling of the trees in golden and red showers. The sun is shining in a perfect blue sky.

  • Robotic milkers?

Here is a vidio of a robotic milking machine. They are really cool. Please excuse the voices in the back ground, you might want to mute the volume.

  • Footprints

This morning when I headed out to class it was 30 degrees out. Walking across the baseball field it was cool to see the impression I made on the frosty ground.

    Definetly looks like fall!

  • Ethanol plants are awsome!

Friday I got to go visit an Ethanol Plant. It was a 3hr drive there, but it was worth it. We were guided throught the plant and shown how ethanol is made. Here are some pictures I took.

    The Carbon Monoxide Plant.

They take the Carbon Monoxide that comes from the fermentation process and sell it to beverage companies.

Me; in my hard hat and safety goggles. I needed them, I ran into a door.

The bucket they use to move corn and brewers grain.

    It is huge.

This is the grate that corn is dumped onto, below it are large augers that send the corn to be processed.

The lab where they test the ethanol.

The computer lab where they keep an eye on all the machinery, on the temperature and pressure of the pipes and silos.

Inside the plant. Green pipes are water and yellow are air.(I think)

  • An Unusual Caterpiller

I found this caterpiller on my ride up the hill this afternoon.
