This morning when I headed out to class it was 30 degrees out. Walking across the baseball field it was cool to see the impression I made on the frosty ground.
We went to Minnesota in November once. One morning frost had covered the ground. One by one each one of my older 4 California born children came out into the living room and announced "It snowed!" Four times I patiently explained the concept of frost (much to the amusement of my Minnesotan relatives). Finally my hubby emerges and says "look it snowed!"
"green horns!!!!" We northerners know what frost is don't we. It was truly beautiful, and cold. When we got home from Mass it had only warmed up to about 34. The sun is shining but it is very deceptive. I think that Landis' are coming to combine the buckwheat today. Now that it has frosted it is dry enough to combine. I am looking forward to watching that happen. I think that Ian is too.
