  • Snow? In October?

acorn joe and a winter day 012

Today when I woke up and checked the weather they were calling for up to 3 inches. An hr later it was 12-20 inches. All morning it was slush that we were getting as the temperature dropped from 40 degrees to 30 degrees in the matter of a couple hours. After one O'clock it got serious, by three  we had more then 3 inches. It hasn't stopped since. We have almost a foot. The wind is driving it into deep drifts and visibility is bad. But what do I care. I love the snow. I have thrown several snow balls and made two snowmen. My last class was cancelled so I got home early. Here I sit eating a warm supper, all dry, posting. I pray that God brings all the students here safe to their rooms. On a lighter note, her is 놓치다   에버그린  눈사람, (miss evergreen snowman) and pictures of M'ville covered with snow.

  • Acorn Joe.

I painted this guy for a young friend of mine. He is a Red Socks fan. He gave me the idea a few weeks ago when I was over at his house baby-sitting.

  • A truly autumn leaf.

Walking through M'ville you see alot of leaves. All colors, shapes and sizes. Some are nice, others are old and brown. I found this one as I walked to math. I thought that not only did it look nice, but it also could fold into different shape. I saved it, but forgot to press it so it is turning brown, rapidly.

  • Twist ties?

There are books written on all the uses of duct-tape, but not on the uses of twist ties. They can be used to hold things closed, to hold things together, and in many other useful ways. They also can be used to make something decorative. Such as this basket my younger brother made out of twist ties.

  • Autumn blooms.

This rose is blooming by the post-office here in M'ville. It bloomed this past week when the temperature each night was somewhere around thirty and the day time temperature rarely got above fifty-five.

  • A good Quote!

My Dairy Nutrition teacher is very big on quotes. She usually has atleast four quote per lecture.

This is one she shared with us this morning.

The clock is running: make the most of to day.

To realize the value of a year; ask a student who failed a grade.

To realize the value of a month; ask a mother who gave birth to a premature baby.

To realize the value of a week; ask an editor of a weekly newspaper.

To realize the value of an hour; ask two people in love who are waiting to meet.

To realize the value of an minute; ask a person who just missed the train.

To realize the value of a second; ask a person who just avoided an accident.

To realize the value of a millisecond; ask a person who won a silver metal in the olympics.

And remeber; time waits for none.

    Yesterday is history,

    Tomorrow is a mystery,

Today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.

I thought this was very good. I don't know where she got from.
